Mitchell Captures Seventh Place Finish at Salem with Never Give Up Attitude

(Mooresville, N.C. ---- April 28, 2014) - Mason Mitchell earned his 12th straight top 10 finish in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Sunday afternoon at the high banked half-mile Salem Speedway.

Saturday afternoon, Mitchell finished both practices in the top five and qualified the No. 98 Thermal Technology Services Inc. Ford Fusion in the fourth position for race number three of the 2014 ARCA season.

When the green flag waved on race number three of the 2014 season Mitchell quickly settled the No. 98 into the fourth position behind John Wes Townley. Mitchell would ride in fourth until John Wes Townley lost a left rear tire to bring out the afternoons first caution at lap 78.

Mitchell would bring the No. 98 to pit-road under the caution flag. Crew chief Brad Parrott opted for four tires sending Mitchell back on track in the seventh position.

Mitchell would quickly work his way back to the front of the field and take the lead away from Grant Enfinger at lap 106. Mitchell would build up an 8.5 second lead before the caution flag waved on lap 124 for debris.

“My plan was to lap the entire field after we took four tires, but unfortunately the caution came out. I still had hopes of winning after that because we never give up until the checkered flag” Mitchell said.

The No. 98 car would hit pit-road under caution for two tires. Mitchell would come out of the pits with the lead and hold the lead until Ken Schrader took the lead at lap 147.

Mitchell crossed the finish line in the seventh position posting his third top ten finish of the 2014 ARCA season. The No. 98 led 42 laps during the midway portion of the race. With the finish the West Des Moines native earned his 12th straight ARCA Racing Series top 10 finish.

“We have the performance we just need the breaks to go our way. We will win, and when we do we will win a lot” Mitchell stated after the 200 lap event.
