Austin Wayne Self Secures Second in ARCA Points with 12th place Finish at Kansas

(Mooresville, NC, October 19, 2015--) Austin Wayne Self, driver of the No. 98 AM Technical Solutions Chevrolet entered the final ARCA race of the 2015 at the Kansas Speedway 60 points behind second place driver in points Josh Williams.

Self was able to keep the No. 98 Mason Mitchell Motorsports entry out of trouble in the S’loonshine 9.89 and finish in the 12th spot. The finish was enough to allow the second year driver to secure second in points by 10 points over Josh Williams.

“We really had to fight until the checkered flag fell at Kansas,” Self added.

“We struggled with speed all day at Kansas but this MM crew kept working and made great changes during the race that allowed us to pick up enough spots to secure second in points.”

“This year was an improvement from my rookie season last year. I wish that we had a few more ARCA races left in 2015. I can’t thank Mason Mitchell Motorsports enough for this great opportunity in 2015. I have to thank AM Technical Solutions and Pirate Energy for supporting me this year.”

Self earned one win at the Winchester Speedway in June during his Sophomore campaign in the ARCA Racing Series.

Self also secured the S&S Volvo Long Haul Award at the Kansas Speedway. Self completed 2,692 of 2,627 (98.7%) laps during the 2015 season.

Next up for the ARCA Racing Series is the 2015 Championship Awards Banquet scheduled for December 12th. 2015 marks the third consecutive year that the black-tie Championship Awards Banquet will be held in the Sagamore Ballroom at the Indiana Convention center. The banquet will start at 5:30 p.m. and run until 9:00 p.m.
